Haiku-a-Day

This is Kerrie.

Scott left us too soon, and I am filled with grief. He wanted me to join him in writing a haiku a day, but I considered haiku writing to be more of an unstructured thing...ironic, I know. Anyway, now I'm going to try to keep Scott's Haiku-a-Day Blog going on his behalf.

The first million or so might be sad haiku. But they will be haiku. And, it's a commitment to write at least a little every day, which I need to do as I try to find my center again.

I don't have to just throw it away?

modular cell phones
non-disposable tech with less waste more value

Annie Leonard talks about cell phones and Phonebloks an idea for modular cell phones. "We use our mobile phones for an average of just 18 months, at last reckoning (although that’s not fast enough for some companies, who are now offering free upgrades every year.)...If you’re reading this blog, you probably know the appalling facts. Worldwide, more than 150 million cellphones are discarded each year; almost 90 percent go to the dump instead of being recycled. Each one contains a poisoner’s handbook of toxic chemicals that are hazardous to the environment and people."
